Jim Leighton is a retired Scottish goalkeeper. He is the most capped Scottish goalkeeper of all time, having gained over 90 caps for his country. Jim played for 9 clubs throughout his career including Arsenal, Manchester United and Aberdeen.

Jim started his career at non-league Dalry Thistle, before joining an Aberdeen side under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson. He played 300 times for Aberdeen in his first spell at the club, before joining Ferguson again at Manchester United in 1988. After 2 seasons with United, Leighton joined a number of different clubs including Arsenal, Reading and Sheffield United before re-joining Aberdeen in 1997 and then retiring in 2000.

During his career Jim won 3 Scottish League titles, 4 Scottish Cups, 2 Scottish League Cups and the European Cup Winners Cup.

Leighton joined Aberdeen again as a coach in 2001 and enjoyed 9 seasons there before joining Highland League side Huntly as their new goalkeeping coach in February 2010.
