About

Kay Murray is an NCTJ trained journalist who has been presenting for over a decade.

Kay is currently working for Real Madrid TV and hosts the shows on the international version of the channel. Now in her sixth season, Kay is the longest serving international presenter and works on both the international and Spanish speaking channel. She hosts the channel's most popular show, Extra Time (a one-hour talk show with top international football journalists) and also the exclusive 'Real' series where she conducts interviews with the manager and first team players.

In addition to her studio-based work, Kay is a pitch side reporter for Real Madrid on match days, both home and away.

Kay has travelled the world with the team, twice assisting them in their pre-season tours of the States, where she reported on the team's day to day news in both English and Spanish. In January 2010 Kay was chosen by the club to assist Spanish national team and Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas on a trip to the United Nations office in Geneva, when the goalkeeper was named UNDP Ambassador.

Aside from her work as Senior Presenter at Real Madrid TV, Kay also contributes to the Fox Soccer Network in America, as a Champions League pitchside reporter. She is the Spanish Football Correspondent for Astro SuperSport's FourFourTwo Eurozone in Malaysia and is also a weekly guest on TalkSport's Sports Bar, with Andy Goldstein.

Kay has also worked for UEFA and was the host of the official unveiling of the 2010 Champions League Final logo, where she shared a stage with Emilio Butragueño, Jorge Valdano and some of the organisation's top representatives.

During her time in football, Kay has interviewed some of the game's biggest names including the late Sir Bobby Robson, Jose Mourinho, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka to name but a few. Her interviewing skills have also been used for specialist documentaries and in 2011 she interviewed Jose Mourinho's right-hand man, Rui Faria for Pitch International's 'Football's Greatest Managers'.

She regularly features on a whole host of international radio stations and podcasts in UAE, Australia and USA including the popular Beyond The Pitch, a podcast which consistently secures some of the biggest name interviews in football and football media.

Away from broadcasting, Kay is a keen writer and has contributed to a number of football magazines and websites including FourFourTwo Australia, Sabotage Times and Beyond the Pitch.

Her ‘Football Barbie’ blog gives a great insight to what it is like working for one of the biggest clubs in world sport. Online since August 2009, the blog has gained a huge audience and this transcends to Twitter and Facebook where you can follow her @KayLMurray and http://www.facebook.com/footballbarbie1. For all the latest videos you can subscribe to Kay's YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/KayMurrayTV

Her passion for football stems from childhood when her grandfather used to take her to Ayresome Park to see her local side Middlesbrough play. During the 2003/2004 season she wrote, co-produced and presented a live pre-match warm up show Soccer Surgery ahead of every home game from a popular pub in the town centre. She continues to work alongside her hometown club and has represented them with guest hospitality and as a halftime guest at games.

Away from football, Kay is involved in charity work and was Ambassador for the unique EuroChampsChallenge last season. She also regularly visits her former school Macmillan Academy and was guest of honour at their 2011 Annual Awards Ceremony.
