About
Kieran began his career at the Wimbledon academy but moved to Arsenal when the club disbanded in 2004. Having played in the centre of midfield and on the left wing, Kieran converted to the left-back position where he played regularly for Arsenal’s Under 18 and reserve teams.
He made his first-team debut for the club in a League Cup game against Sheffield United on the 31st October 2007 before agreeing to a loan move to Norwich City, where he remained until the end of the 2007-08 season.
The following year Kieran featured in Arsenal’s pre season games and continued to play in their League Cup campaign and made his Champions League debut coming off the bench against FC Porto on the 10th December 2008.
With Gael Clichy injured, Kieran made is Premier League debut in the North London derby against Tottenham on the 8th of February 2009.
Still a teenager, Kieran deputised admirably for Clichy making 21 appearances in the League and Cup competitions showing his wide range of skills. He has lightning pace, accurate passing and loves to get forward.
His England career is also heading in the right direction. Kieran was a regular for the Under 21 team last season scoring 3 times in 14 appearances. Arsene Wenger has tipped Kieran for senior honours as he looks to make the left back position his own in the years to come.
