Scott Minto was a left back who played for a number of London clubs such as Chelsea West Ham and Charlton Athletic, Minto also played for Benfica and Rotherham United.

Scott started his footballing career at Charlton Athletic at the age of 17. He immediately got into the starting line-up at Charlton and spent 5 seasons at the club, making over 200 appearances before moving to West London and signing for Chelsea in 1994. Scott made his debut for Chelsea in European Cup Winners’ Cup and helped guide the team to the Semi-Finals. Despite a number of injuries, Scott was a first team regular at Chelsea and in 1997 helped Chelsea to the FA Cup final victory over Middlesbrough in his final game for the club, before his move to Portugal to sign for Benfica.

Scott stayed in Portugal for 18 months before moving back to London where he joined West Ham for £1 million. Scott was an instant hit at West Ham and managed to help secure them a 5th place spot, the highest they have ever finished in the Premier League!

In 2003, Scott completed his final career move to Rotherham United where he was plagued by injuries and called time on his playing career due to a final injury in 2006, having made over 50 appearances for the club.

Since retiring from the game Scott has completed a degree in Professional Sports Writing and Broadcasting at Staffordshire University. Scott also appears on Sky Sports’ ‘Soccer Saturday’ as a reporter and pundit. More information on Scott can be found in the Media section of the site.
